Stimulation with Laughter Therapy and Play

"We don't stop playing because we grow old.

We grow old because we stop playing."

- Bernard Shaw

At Playing Camp, we bring joy, movement and connection to care homes, day centres and community spaces, adapting to different levels of autonomy and the particular needs of each group.

From short 30-minute activity sessions to full workshops or ongoing programmes throughout the year, each activity is designed to improve emotional wellbeing, slow down deterioration and strengthen the sense of community.

Discover this new way of transforming wellbeing with a simple and fun practice that stimulates all types of residents cognitively, physically, socially and artistically.

Our goal is simple: to help them feel better and live each day with more joy.

What is a Playing Camp session like?

Our laughter therapy and play sessions have been specially adapted for older people, combining scientific methodologies: Positive Psychology, Artistic Expression, Meditation and gentle Yoga.

Each workshop offers physical, cognitive, emotional and creative stimulation through laughter therapy exercises (no jokes required), gentle body movement, non-verbal communication games, positive reminiscence, and artistic expression with paints, clay and musical instruments.

A session lasts between 45-90 minutes, the ideal amount of time to maintain attention without causing fatigue.

We work with groups of 10-20 people, allowing for individualised attention and an intimate dynamic of trust. We adapt to different levels of independence.

All you need is a large room with chairs arranged in a circle—it can be an activity room, dining room, or outdoor patio.

We bring all the materials: musical instruments, art supplies, props for games, and music. No expensive equipment, no complicated set-ups.

It's like recess at school, but adapted for older adults: a safe space to laugh, connect, and create a good atmosphere in the group.

How have we adapted Playing Camp for the Elderly?

Games for Every Type of Resident

After several years of bringing recess back to businesses, we are committed to reconnecting our seniors with their inner child. We have transformed the experience to make it even more inclusive.

We work with different levels of autonomy and adapt each activity so that anyone can participate.

Those who maintain good mobility enjoy standing games, movement dynamics, and small choreographies that activate the body and spirit.

For those who use wheelchairs, we design expressive exercises that strengthen the upper body without losing any of the fun or rhythm. When cognitive impairment is present, we prioritise sensory stimulation, music therapy and simplified games that encourage connection and presence.

People with greater dependency also find their place thanks to gentle massages, assisted laughter therapy, and guided activities alongside their carers.

Our facilitators adjust the intensity and type of activity in real time according to the energy, ability, and comfort of each participant.

No one is left out: each person participates at their own pace and according to their own well-being.
